Wales May Have 1946 Empire Games
There is a decided probability that Wales will stage the British Empire Games in 1940,
A deputation of sporing and business men Interviewed the Lord Mayor of Cardiff, urging the claims of the Principality to be given the Axture.
The Lord Mayor, Alderman W. G. Howell was in complete agreement with the proposal and sild thut Cardiff would gladly take the lead on behalf of Wales.
It was decided that, before calling la conference of local authorities and other interested bodies, steps should be taken to ascertain what facilities were required to stage the Games.
The Rugby football ground, Arms Park, Cardiff, which has a capacity of 60,000, would be an admirable venue for the Games.
Police Hold First Rugby Practice
The Hongkong Police held their first practice rugger match last Wednesday when about 28 players turned out for the game at the Police Recreation Club, Kowloon.
The assistant superintendent of Police, Q. S. Wlison" will be captain of the tear, while H. W. E. Heath, L. A. Searle, E. C. Lascombe and J. Riddell will all be turning out for the Police.
