The Hongkong Stock Exchange: official summary issued at 3.15 p.m. yesterday, says.

There was a steady market during the day and a fair volume of business priced was transacted. The lower stocks were again most in favour, with sales reported at slightly im proving rates. A substantial gain was registered In H.K. Banka, shares changing hands at $1,420/1,425, with sellers asking $1.430. Appearances at the close indicate a continuance of the sleadiness displayed during the day.
