SPLENDID FEAT BY EU STABLE IN TARDY H'CAP

Silkylight Again Lowers A Record

(By "Captain Foster")

The Hongkong Jockey Club closed their racing season last Saturday before one of the largest crowds ever as- sembled at Happy Valley. The dollar cash sweep counter was the chief attraction, the first prize in the opening event, the Hongkong Autumn Champions, being well over $2,000 and ticket No. 1225 was worth $5,574.80 for an out- lay of $2 in the last contest.

The outstanding feature of the stretch in 27 seconds meeting was the wonderful success pounds to spare. of the Singapure philanthropist, Mr. Eu Tong-sen, whose three nomina- tims, Lucky (with Mr. Encarnacao up), Rose Jane (Mr. W. Poy) and Queen (Mr. S. W. Pan) finished
