Enormous Popularity Of Prime Minister
MR.
LONDON, Oct. 2.
NEVILLE CHAMBERLAIN'S popularity with the mass of people has reached unprecedented heights. Nevertheless, there is a not inconsiderable section of the people and also of politicians who are bitter at the terms of the Munich Agreement.
--
They cannot see that the Agreement arranged by the Four Powers differs materially from the demands made by Herr Hitler at Godesberg, which, two days, before Munich, Mr. Chamberlain announced were totally unacceptable to France and Great Britain.
Lobbies are discussing the possibility of a snap election next month. Some circles believe that Mr. Chamberlain could choose no better time for going to the country, in view of his great prestige to-day.

Old Pro- British Policy
RESIGNATION OF GENERAL UGAKI,
TOKYO, Oct. 3,
DESPITE the official announcement that Japan's foreign policy would
not be altered as a result of General Ugaki's resignation, the Tokyo Hochi gives prominence to a story alleging that the resignation marks the be- ginning of a remarkable new.stago in Japanese diplomacy, in which the pro-British policy will be broken once and for all.
The article says that a "forceful Chinese policy will also be translated into action, while efforts will be made to further strengthen the Rome-Berlin-Tokyo axis."
The writer states that with this MR. AND MES. T. ADDIS MARTIN, who were married at St. John's end in view the Premier will choose
