CHOOSE ARMS

"All Will Have To Go In Same Direction"

ENUNCIATES AMERICA'S CREED OF PEACE

Washington, Aug. 16.

Mr. Cordell Hull, the Secretary of State, dealt extensively with the foreign situation in a nation-wide broadcast hook-up to-night.

A clear issue was facing the world to-day as a result of recent menacing developments: namely, said the Secretary of State, that, the future of the world is either to be determined by universal reliance on armed force and frequent aggression and international anarchy, or peace, morality and justice based on economic well-being, security and progress.

on

Referring to developments of science, Mr. Hull said it would be soon impossible for some nations to choose the way of force and others the way of reason.

"All will have to go in the satne direction." he declared ominously.

Elther trade barriers between nations must be removed, or the pressure of nations to gain access to needed raw materials by conquest of mailed additional territory and the fist twould become intensified.

"Disintegration of the structure of world order is proceeding with stap- Hering rapidity and threatens the foundation Gif civilisation." very dectured Mr. Huli.
