IN REALITY CONTINUATION OF CARNIVAL

NINE EVENTS ARRANGED IN DAY'S PROGRAMME

(By "Captain Foster")

Although it is officially called the First Extra the race Meet- ing which will be held to-morrow at Happy Valley is in reality a continuation of the Annual Carnival; for there are a few open races confined to Australian and China ponies that started at the Annual Race Meeting and did not win. However, after to- morrow's racing, the classification sub-committee will assemble some time next week for a new ranking list and it looks that they will have a hard job over the Australian subscription griffins of this season. Owners are reminded that no pony will be classi- fied within 48 hours of, the time fixed for closing the entries for any Race Meeting.
