The above matches are the lust for the season, which will be wound up Antamok next week by the annual Seven-1- alde Tournament. This year entry has been larger than ever be- fore and there are five Navy, twelve Army, five Civillan, one Police and one side from the m.v. Mainyon Prince, at present in dock at Kow- loon. The sporting entry from the officers of the Malayan Prince appreciated. It is n pity that more "outside" teams do not enter in ihls manner. The Tournament becomes more interesting with dark horses amongst the competitors and no one is able to forecast the result.

AUSTRALIAN PONIES' CHAMPIONS
Can Electron Beat Strathroy Again?
The penultimate event is on the Australian Po les Champlons and we nay look forward to really Tho conditions champion contest. of this classic are for winners and placed ponies of a flat race at this Club's
Extra Race Meetings held during the second half of 1937 sca- son, and/or at this Meeting only. I do not expect for a moment to see a big field, but with the presence of Able Amazon, Annabella, Bland- ford, Electron, Gypsy Love, Lanco- shire Chips, Little Audrey, Strathroy and Tornado Star, cue race track is about the right size to hold nine runners
interference. without any Strathroy, after a thrashing by Electron in the Melbourne Cup over 14 miles, has been specially served for the big classic and the connections are confident that Stra- throy will have his revenge. Elec- tron, after his smart win, has not been out and the owners are looking forward to another Success. Mr. Macgregor'a candidate will therefore have to be at his best to stave off the challenge of Electron, but with due consideration to both of them, the entry of the Rooty-Hill Derby winner, Tornado Star, will have to bes respected. This little chestnut mare by the sire "unknown" has certainly wonderful legs and the manner in which sho annexed the Rydney Malden Stakes and the Rooty-ill Derby, was very impres- alve. It may be of interest to know that the second pony (Annabella) and the third (Murray River) in the Rooty-Hill Derby were also by the unknown sires and it was indeed a great pity that the suppliers did not or could not furnish the Club with the names of their respective stres for future references.
