London, Dec. 11.

An Exchange Telegraph despatch from Tokyo received here states that Nanking is in Japanese hands- United Press.

A later United Press message from Nanking states the Japanese mounted machine-guns and artillery on the outer walls of the city and fire into it all night. A vigorous Chinese counter-attack was repulsed.
