This scene, taken from the air, shows the crumpled wreck of the United Air Lines Mainliner high up in the rocky wilderness of Chalk Peak in the Uinta Mountains of Utah. Considered the worst crash in American aviation history, bodles of 18 of the 19 victims were hurled over a '100-foot arca, as Indiested by arrows, and buried in the snow. Wings of the plane were sheared off, as it tore through trees lo destruction.
