A WOMAN OF 40 known

to her associates only as "Madame," is the brain bo- hind Britain's blackmail gang, which Scotland Yard has for long been trying to arash.

Recently two members of the gang, Joseph Kinsella and David Sellars Baird, were. con- victed on blackmailing charges. Kinsella got ten

years and

Baird five.

For eight years "Madume" and a gang of eight have preyed on their vletima.

Then, last year, one victim came forward to prosecute. The frat member of the gang was sentenced to five years' penal servitude:

MADAME THE SPOTTER

An ex-convict, who was in prison with Kinsella when he was serving a sentence of three years on charges of assoull und wounding in 1933, and has since kept in touch with him, told me the whole story of the gank-
