''Teresa's Church, Kowloon Tong, was the scene of the wedding yesterday afternoon of Miss Rosiia Elaine Parraga-Azan, daughter of Mr. Franelsco Parraga-Azan, of Maeno, and Mr. Charles Edward Abbas, of No. 21, Kal Tak Road.

The bride wore a white, wedding gown, and a long white veil. She also carried white flowers.

The father of the bride gave her away in marriage, and Mr. Nari Benjonjec was the best-man,

A reception for the couple was held at their residence, 175, Sal following Yeung Street, Kowloon, which they left for the honeymoon, which will be spent in Canton.

Declaring themselves to be per- fectly satisfied with the actions of the hospital authorities. in dealing with the case, a Coroner's jury al the Kowloon Magistracy yesterday found, at the conclusion of an inquest on Lam Yin-ying, aged 6, a posi- man's daughter, that she had died from lymphalism during surgical undergoing an while anaesthesio

appendicitis at operation for acute the Kowloon Hospital on July 3.

Mr. E. Himsworth, first Kowloon Magistrate, sat as Coroner, and was assisted by a jury comprising Messrs. Fred Cullen (Foreman), Fung Man- slu, and L. dos R. Campos. Sub- Inspector H. E. Rogers was present for the police.

Dr. K. H. Uttley sald that about 11 a.m. on July 3, the girl was admitted to the hospital suffering from acute appendicitis which necessitated an operation.. She died while immediate

was under the anaesthetle, ether. Two doctors had been pre- sent throughout.

At a post mortem held the next morning, all the internal organs were found to be healthy except a gland at the root of the neck, which was than

normal. This rather larger was nearly always the case in a con- dition called lymphatism and was unfortunately not recognisable dur- ing life. Its importance lay in the fact that very occasionally when a patient was having an operation it was liable to cause death, due to the effect of the anesthetic.

In this case it was the cause of death.

"There is every reason to suppore," continued Dr. Uttley, "that the child would have made an uneventful recovery if it had not been for this latent condition. This is one of the risks that have to be taken when anaesthetles are given, and it is one that all doctors are alive to when they have to recommend an opera- tion."

In answer to questions, Dr. Uttley said it was possible for a patient with lymphatism to have an anaesthetic and yet not dic. In fact, deaths under an anaesthetic from this cause

were very rare.
