Coronation to Bring Out Britain's Famed Jewels

Above-Coronation! or St. Edward's Crown, with which King George VI is invested during the coronation ceremonies in Westminster Abbey. It is of massive gold and so heavy with gems that almost as soon it is placed on the King's head it must be removed, remaining on the overeign only a few seconds. The crown was made for Charles It is

1652 and illy witered to ft each new King.

Below, in center-The King's Royal Coach, in which George and Elizabeth will ride from Buckingham Palace to the Abbey. It was constructed in 1761 and weight four tons. Rich emblematic paintings decorate its panels and door. At right-Kmy's Royal Scepter, as which is set the world's largest diamond. It is another of the four "Stars of Alice." weighing 516 estats. This scepter is placed in the King's right hand at the same time that St. Edward's Crown in placed on his head. He then is truly King.
