OST people who know anything about child welfare agree that children to-day stay up too late

at night.

For no apparent reason, many young chil dren stay up till 10 and 11 o'clock most nights; in fact, they do a fifteen-hour day, standing and walking about in crowded streets and shops, sit- ting in stuffy rooms.

Lack of sleep is enough to make children ill; constipation, dyspepsia, insomnia, irritability and ill-temper, inability to concentrate, and lack of vitality-those are some of the complaints caused by late nights. It is literally cruel to prevent chil- dren from getting the sleep they need.
