RANGER SLIGHTLY FAVOURED
Ponds the Moonie The anale, Handicap over a mile for non-win- ning Australian ponies of any season, hax attracted ten entries and the adjustment of avoirdupois does not leave any loophole.
Centre Court ran very well in the Adelaide Stakes over a course_from the two mile post, once round and in, when she finished third to Elec- tron and Able Amazon, and it noteworthy that the field to-morrow is a mediocre one.
She and Ranger are on the some level and it is interesting to relate that these two cobs are trained by the same Russian riding-boy Popolt who is of the opinion that they have
chances. equa}
On past per. formances Ranger should be a few Centre pounds better animal than Court. Snowy River has £ less to shoulder and over a mile run is dangerous.
