A large gathering of relatives ind! friends of students of the Hongkong) Commercial Institute attendel Hie! fourth annual commencement exer-l eiser and concert held in the Queen's Theatre yesterday morning.

The Beadmaster, Mr. J. K. Yew, thanked Mr. Ip Lan-chuen warmly for kindly unsenting to distribute the prizes and certificates to the gradu-| ates,

Mr. Yow read the report of the! year's working of the Institute, which showed that the 198 students of the school were making excellent progress | in all subjects taught, and that in the! last examination conducted by the Institute of Book-keepers, Faculty of Secretaries and Institute of Com merce, London, out of 8 entrants for! the examination from the school 78 passes were recorded. He added that he was deeply indebted to Mr. F. G. Maunder, Mr. L. Hinds, the Rev. Lee Row-yan, and Mr. K. M. Au.! for their presence in supervising the Institute examinations,

Prizes and certificates were "then" distributed by Mr. JpLan-churn, who said that the art of Commerce was a weapon for conquering in! dividual or social prosperity, and hej would recommend the H. Cont mercial Institute as an excellent source where young men and women could derive their commercial: eduention.
