LIFEBOATS TRANSFER NORTH SEA PASSENGERS

A lifeboat from the crippled steamer North Sea pulls to the side of the Coast Guard cutter Alert with a load of passengers taken from the ship when she went aground 50 miles south of Ketchikan, Alaska. Lifeboatą transferred 143 passengers, some of whom were taken back to the North Sea when she was refloated.
