Bus Complaints
(To The Editor,
Hongkong Telegraph)
Sir- must bring to the notice of the authorities and, I think I am expressing the view of the publle too. the very rude manner of the drivers and conductors of the bus services In the Colony. On one occasion Inst year, I was waiting at the Cricket Ground Bus Stop for the No. 3 bus. ur and when it came, I waved my hand to signal it to stop, but it just went on and I had jump on to it. I can. not understand why it did not stop for it was not full at the time.
On another occasion in September, I waited for the No. 4 bus at the old Safiors' Home stop at Sai Ying Pun in the early evening, The No. 4 bus came but it followed a No. 5 which pulled up at the stop. Natural ly I had to go behind the No. 5 In order to board the No. 4, but the latter just hopped off despite every signal possible I made to it.
Oven-
Still another incident; Inst Ing at 7.20, I walted at the Holy Spirit School stop in Caine Road for the No. 3 bus. I waved my hand as it was coming but it avoided me. Seeing it wouldn't stop, I shouted at the top of my voice to order it to, but it went straight on. I know the driver saw me for I saw. he looked and an me. Tho conductor inspector also looked at me but made no effort to stop the bus as if they did not want my patronage,
I have noted the numbers of the two buses in the second and last incidents stated ahave, and I wish 1 would some day seek legal proceedings to end this sort of thing for the anke of the public. I have often seen bus conductors cursed passengers when they board or alight not "Tush" enough. If one board or alight until The bus is completely stationary, one would be mire to receive a "Fal Ti" from the driver or the condurior.
