CORINTHIANS FACE A STIFF TASK

-The 1935-36 F. A. Cup competition enters upon its first interesting stage this Saturday when Third Division teams, hitherto exempted, figure in the first round proper. There are 34 matches for decision and the survivors will have to contest another round before receiving the opportunity of trying con- clusions with the more famous teams.

Forty seven of the first, second und third division clubs receive round exemption until the third proper which is played on January 11, and they, together with the f winners in the second round go to make up what is usually regarded OB the competition proper.

But this week the smaller profes- sional clubs and several of the more Important amateur aides, will clash in interesting tles.

The Corinthians, despite active and of voluble opposition on the part many of the bigger clubs, have re- ceived exemption until this round. the draw has not been too favourable to the famous amateur lub.
