In the course of an interview yesterday, Mr. Bigazzi stated the work had been completed in record time.

Process Explained

He explained the process of mosaic work and remarked that the picture is first painted in full size on thick paper in the exact colour- ing in which the mosaic is to be. The mosaic is then pasted down with the good face towards the paper. Each piece is numbered on Lhe other side of the paper. When the mosaic la dry the paper is re- moved leaving a perfect picture without any trace of jolns.

Mr. Blgazzi added that the new Bank building contains 80,000 square feet of marble, part of which was ordered from England and part from Italy. The work of fixing the marble was com- menced on March 16 last and finished by the end of August.

The larger slabs of marble each weighed 450 a.
