Only about half a million men are affected by the order, as many tribal chiefs are already partially mobilized, and about 260,000 men are already under arms.

The mobilization is not likely to take long to complete. All men have been warned in advance to whom to report, and the chiefs have received instructions from the Emperor as regards the des- tination of their forces.

The women have also greet- ed the order calmly, and Are rendy for their men-folk to lay down their lives for their country. Many of the women, it is reported, have urged the men to go to the front voluntarily.-Reuter.
