Summoned at the instance of Mr. G. S. Wilson, Assistant Suporin- tondent of Police, for driving without due care and caution, Li Ping-wal, driver of private car No. 3707. Was Aned $26 by Mr. Schoßold this morning.
Mr. Wilson said that on April 25 about 4.30 p.m. he was driving along Connaught Road towards tha Hongkong Club. About thirty yards from the Star Forry, a car suddenly shot out of the ear mark directly in front of his car, and if he had not applied his brakes hard ho would probably have been forced into the harbour,
Defendant said. he came out of Statue Square behind a trafic officer.
Traffic Sergeant Brittala said he was 20 yards in front of the do- fendant, who cut through from behind him without looking for traffic coming along Connaught- Road from the west.
Defendant admitted that ho tried to cut across, as he thought the car was some distance away.
LORRY ACCIDENT SEQUEL
On
A sequel to the overturning of a Jarry in Dairy Farm Hill Wednesday morning was the ap- pearance of Cheung Fat, driver of the lorry No. 1686, on a summons of driving without due care and caution.

TO BE EXPELLED
FROM COLONY
A 24-year-old Korean, Tom Kitanure, appeared before Mr. Kowloon Wyano-Jones at the Magistracy this morning on charges of (a) stealing a rattan suit case containing a quantity of woman's clothing from No. 2 Austin Avenue, ground floor, the property of Ko Sze, a cook, yoster- day, and (b) entering the Colony on or about May 8 without a pass- port.

Detective Sub-Inspector Whant prosecuted. It was stated that complainant had the suit case in her room, and to get into this room it was necessary to climb over the back wall. Defendant was arrested in Ashley Road with the case in his posscasion, and ho was sont with the police to point out the house where he stole It. On the way complainant saw the case and sald that it was hers.
In answer to the first charge de fendant said he found the suitcase on the side walk in Austin Avenuo. He was discharged on this count, but was sentenced to three weeks' hard labour on the second, and an MSPUNERE SIMULANTA expulsion order was made against
him.
