Mr. Jenkin referred to paying book recording sums of money guid by Tung Fink to Tung Tri for goods received. Witness ngreed that the writing was done by himself and that the receipt stamps and chops were fixed by Yeung Sik-kwong for the Tung Tak.
CHOP MARKS
With the aid of a magnifying glass, Counsel demonstrated to the Court that the marks of chops made on receipt stamps had left an impression on receipt stamps for payments, made several months Inter according to the date they bore. This could only mean that the stamps had been put an at the same time and that the wet

the page had been turned over.
Witness asserted that the first impression shown him was caused by a dirty finger mark, but, on being shown other clear impres sions which Mr. Jenkin said ap peared on every page of the book, he suggested that it was caused by the stamps being so damp that they absorbed the mark of the chop made months earlier.
Counsel then pointed out that the impression not only covered the stamp but part of the page as woll.
Mr Jonkin: The fact that stumped documents of this nature passed between you would be use- ful in showing that you and Tung Tak were not partners?
Witness wad understood to say he did not know that stamped unnecessary be- receipts were
tween partners.
Counsel suggested that it might be a coincidence that the Tung Tak receipt chop was missing, and witness replied that he knew nothing of this chop.
