For the dirt track sequence in the Gaumont-British picture, "Britannia of Billingsgate" showing at the Queen's Theatre, and which features) Violet Loraine and Gordon Harker, with Kay fiammond, a number of famoun speedway riders were re- eruited from the London speedway tracks. Those taking part were Ron Jahnson and Tom Farndon (Crystal Palice), Colin Watson (Wembley), and Gus Kuin, Claude Rye and Arthur Warwick (Wimbledon). These expert riders put up a thrilling race in the fim. during which a motor eyele crashed and burst into flames. Thousand watched this contest, the director Sinclair Hill, in order to en- sure a "full house" at the Lea Bridge Speedway where filming occurred, advertising in the National Prema offering free admission. Speedway enthusiasts from all over London took advantage of this opportunity of cheering their particular heroes enj to victory.
