The case in which William Gordon Routley, a land bailiff attached to the Public Works Department, is aummoned for the alleged assault of Chinese woman, Mrs. Lam Yuet. fong, was continued before Mr. J. H. 3. Lee at the Kowloon Magistracy yesterday afternoon.

Mr. Peter Sin represented the cons plainant, while Mr. F. H. Lonely, of Messrs. Russ and Company, appeared for the defendant.

Two doctors, Dr. J. Durran and Dr. P. F. S. Court, were recalled, and after a lengthy examination, and cross-examination, which was of a teclinical nature, by Mr. Loseby and Afr. Sin, the case was further ad- journed to October 31.

In the course of his examination Dr. Durran stated that, if a blow by natone caused a tear in a sinck- Ing, he would expect the tear to be at a right angle. Ho further unid that the injury on the leg was in- consistent with the tear in the stock- Ing.

On being cross-examined by Mr. Sin, ho admitted that the tear could have been further torn when boing washed.

After examining the complainant's leg, witness stated that there was ovidence of skin. disease, but he saw no sign of the leg having been scratched.

The complainant was recalled und on being questioned admitted that, owing to some pimples, she had scratched her leg just below the knee, but did not cause the leg to bleed.

Mr. Sin reserved his cross-examina- tion of the complainant and the case was adjourned.
