WORLD SERIES TIED AGAIN

DETROIT LOSES GRIP

ON PENNANT

NEXT GAME DECIDES LEAGUE RIVALRY

Detroit, Oct. 8.

Back in Detroit, where they were greeted like conquering heroes, the Tigers were once again humbled on their own grounds at Navin Field by a rejuvenated team of fighting St. Louis Cardinals to-day. Thus the World's Series for the baseball prize of the year was tied again, and the issue will not be decided until to-morrow.

Having whipped St. Louis twice on their own field, the Tigers were confident that their one-game lead would see them through and that they would make it three straight for the pennant. They put their young pitching prodigy into the box to make sure of the game.

The

under players were strain to-day. If Detroit won it meant the end of the series and victory for the American League team. St. Louis had to win to tie the series. The high-tension may have accounted for the Detroit errora. Two of them there were, and they cost the extra runs which gave St. Louis the winning ad- „vantage.
