British "Invasion” ef American Market

The biggest campaign on behalf of British film in Amerlen which has yet been undertaken in an nounced by the Gaumont-British Film Corporation.

The Corporation has decided to most Initiato Immediately the spectacular enterprise undertaken by any British film company since talking pictures began by creating a machine for the distribution of British talking pictures through- out the United States,

For this purpose Mr. Jeffrey Bernerd, nonoral manager of the Gaumont-British Picture Corpora- tion, ia sailing for Now York to day.

This enterprise means that Bri tish talking pictures will be sold direct to American cinemae in exactly the same way as American talking pictures are sold by their producers to British cinemas.

Mr. Jeffrey Bernerd will have to create at least 15 datribution.cen- tros in America and will have to rent approximately 30 key theatres in big cities, beginning with New York.

The first five films he will offer will be "Jew Suss," "Cha Chin Chow," "Little Friend," "Man of Aran," and "The Iron Duke."

The preliminary work for the creation of this machine for the distribution of British films in America will cost £200,000.
