INWARD MAILS.

US.A., Honolulu, Japan and Shang-

hal (San Francisco, 4th May)

The response so far has been Japan most gratifying, and those who Straita have sent in contributions have Japan the knowledge that the funds are | Straits being put to excellent use. Every

case is closely scrutinised.

It would be a fine wind-up i the Fund were during the next three days raised to $5,000. There will not be the least difficulty in making use of this sum, as many of the cases which have received urrent temporary relief will need further grants, to say nothing of the hospital cases which will have to be dealt with when the patients are discharged.
