London, May 24.
Hampshire's county cricket ground at Southampton to-day was the scene of the most sensational cricket since the arrival of the Australian Test team in England this year.
In the course of the day's play, Australia lost her three leading stock batsmen-Wood- full, Brown and Bradman for two runs, yet at the close of play had put 428 runs on the board for the loss of nine wickets.'

YANKEES IMPROVE G GIANTS WIN
New York, May 21. The Senators were again nowed to-day in an American League baseball game, but the Yankeen did a little better and just best Chicago White Sox to it.
The Glanta and Cardinals won comfortably, but Cincinnati had an unhappy experience againat the Phillies, Davis blanked them?
Baring, a fast bowler, in his first spell with the ball, cap- tured three wickets for six runs, his victims being Wood- full (the "Unbowlable"), Brown and Bradman, who respectivo- ly scored 2, 0, 0.
This was Don Dradman'a second "duck" on an English wicket.
Baring gained further honours, when he returned to the attack, to secure the wicket of Stanley McCabe, who appeared to be well set for any amount of runs. McCabe lost his wicket after scor- ing 79.
70 RUNS AN HOUR. Actually 447 runs were scored during six and a half hours play, an
average of nearly 70 runs an hour.
The first strike-out of the New York Yankees' your fell to--of all persons—the mighty Sultan of 5wat himself, George Herman Ruth. Here you see the Babe fanning in the first insing of the game which the Yanks lost to the Athletics, 6-5, at Philadelphia.
