CINEMA SCREENINGS

NOTES SUPPLIED BY THE THEATRES"

There was an amusing incident during the production of "I was a Spy" at the Gaumont-British studion. The film comes to the King's Theatre on Wednesday. Madeleine Carrell, as an extremely good-looking daughter of a restaurant keeper, is making the beds when she is postered with the dubious intentions of a drunken Ger

man offer. The dialogue in this situation is hardly pro-tarman, and imagine the feelings of Madeleine Carrell and Victor Baville when they noticed they wore being watched by Ronnte Mulfor and her escort, A young German officer, who were on a flying visit to London. The director's tact ful explanation that this particular scene was the only scene in the ple ture which showed the German officer In a bad light was a masterpiece of diplomacy. Miss Muller and her friend both saw the funny side of the situation and laughed heartily.

Two famous screen names are at the head

of the cast of "Tigor Shark," the First National exciting pleture of the the colourful Tung industry which is next chango at the Queon's. Edward G.
