(Continued from Page 9.) 12TH BATT. LOSE TO MEDICALS Winners Better Balanced

Following their defeat of the 20th Battery in the R.A. Cup, the 12th Battery, R.A. were less successful when they met the R.A.M.C. in the Small Units football league yester day.

The R.A.M.C., the more balanced team, won by three' goals to one, despite the inclusion of Allan, Pardoo and Edmunds in the Artillery team. Seal, however, was a notablo absentee from the 12th.

The teams were level at half time, Edmunds scoring for the Battery and Poole, for the Medicals. After the change over, the RAM.C., held the balance of exchanges, and further goals came from Savoury and Milling

EAGLE WIN SMARTLY

AGAINST KENT Although somewhat blessed with fortune, H.M.S. Eagle gained a smart win against H.M.S. Kent in the third division of the China Fleet football yesterday, when the teams met at Happy Valley The Aircraft Carrier won 'by the odd goal in three, and were Indebted to Cast for his snap shooting.

The Eagle were slightly the

better team In the first half, and Longley, the Kent goalkeeper was kept busler than his opposite number. Despite a bright dis- play, ho was beaten by Cast be- fore the Interval,

An early goal by the Eagle, centre-forward after the restart looked likely to pave the way for n Kent debacle, but the men from the aeship recovered, and when Bone got through to reduce the load, they took command of the exchanges. Under a continuous nssault, the Earle defence stood up well, and the Kent were denied an equalising goal.

This success puts the Eagle one point behind the Kent for Becond place, with the Medway lending the division with eleven points.
