GOOD RESULTS.
OVER TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS COLLECTED
Six deserving · causes" have bonoftted by the observances of Trafalgar and Navy Days in the Colony, and a financial state- mont lasued by the Hon. Tren- auror of the Navy Day Fund reveals the success which attend- ed both efforts.
The receipta totalled $12,725.03, -out-of-which-$3,840. came from
the sale of flags on Trafalgar Day. The big attendance at the Naval Yard on Navy Day, how-| over, contributed $5,440.05, and the sale of programmes yfolded $1,288.46.
There were also several volun- tary contributions, His Excellency the Governor contributing $50 and the Hongkong Jockey Club heading the list with $1,000,
The six causes which have benefitled are the Soldiers and Sailors Home ($2,700) the Bea- men's Institute and Sex Scouts ($2,300); the Cheero Club ($2,- 000); the Navy League, ($1,000); the Trafalgar Orphan Fund ($500) and the Chinese General Charities Fund ($500).
The general expenses totalled $3,491.94 and a-balance of $233.90 is left, which is retained to meet any further expenses coming to hand. Any residue will form the Day neucleus for another Navy
or be devoted to Charity if this does not take place,
