THAT ELUSIVE LAWN BOWLS TITLE
K.B.G.C. LOSE GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY
DECIDING MATCH NECESSARY
The Kowloon Bowling Green lost a golden opportunity of winning the first division championship of the bowls league on Saturday, when, re- quiring but two points to ac- complish the feat, they lost to the Taikoo Recreation Club by four shots.
But this was not the only sur- prise. Craigengower, hard on the heels of the Kowloon team, fell victims before their own support- er to the Club de Recreio.
The net result was to allow Civil Service to jump in, and, consequent upon their victory against Kowloon Docks, to bo in the position to challenge the Bow- Ing Green for the title.
The likelihood of this position was envisaged in these columns a week ago and It now has to be recognised that Civil Service are probably the most Ikely winners of the championship.
VITAL MATCH.
At the present moment the Bow- ling Green are entrenched at the head of the table. To use golfing parlance, they are dormy, and will meet either Craigengower or Civil Service in a deciding match.
The last two named teams play off the final match of the lengus programme next Saturday. The

NOW SECOND IN "B" DIVISION
LEAGUE TENNIS
The Club de Recreio have jump-| ed to second place in the "B" Division of the lawn tennis league and are now on level points with the Chinese Recreation Club, al- though the latter, virtual cham-i pions, have played one game lesa.
The Recreio easily defented the Graduates Association Inst week and so placeit themselves above South China. The Graduates cap- tured only two sets, whilst E. A. Noronha and Dr. A. P. Guterres won all three,
But for their odd set defeat at the hands of the KCC. the Re- creio would now be seriously, chal- leniging the C.R.C., as the Portu- guese have only one outstanding match to play.
