THE WORLD OF WOMEN
NOW TO PULL IN THAT WAISTLINE ROLL!
Swing your right hand forward...touching the floor by your left foot.
By Jacnuer
Centre your attention on your waistline, when you do your next exerelae,
Stretching through your waistline is the way to pull in that extra roll you don't want.
Too many women slump when they sit down. Your waistline must be stretched up and down, not for your figure's sake but because of the vital organs that need space for stretching too.
This exercise is excellent to open ap that aren lengthwise through the waistline.
Stand erect, breastbone lifted, shoulders easy, breathing deeply, far apart. Now stretch with window open. Place your feet yourself up through the waistline. raise your arma above your head and bend forward, keeping the waistline stretched, and touch your left hand to the floor, beyond your right foot, or to your left foot, if you can't reach farther.
Swing back to position, stretch again, swing your right hand. forward, touching the floor by your left foot. Each time your other hand should swing out backward.
.
Do this 10 times. If it tires you the first day, do it just twice: then each following day, and add two more stretches, until you get the 10.
Breathe deeply as you do this exercise. Don't hold your breath. After you have stretched, don't you feel more alive? You should, for this exercise gets at all those little muscles through your back and waistline that are crying out to be given a chance to play but your sedentary habits prevent it.
YOUR CHILDREN.
By Alicia Hart
We cannot forec fear out of a little child. We cannot whip it out, scold it out, or shame it out. Moreover, we cannot keep fear from developing, talk as we may about ways and means to do it.
when he is quite happy and his attention engaged with a now toy or picking flowern, or a story you are telling him, let him have just a short glimpse of the monster: Then without any remarks, or even enlling his attention to it, pass on. Be very unconcerned yourself and act as though the ogre was unworthy of your notice.
However, there are cases where a child cannot eraso his first ter- ror so easily. If this happens and you have tried in vain to help him, don't be too persistent.. Wait un-
he is older at least, Never use force, and don't sacrifice him to your own idens of courage or what

a cow or had any unpleasant ex- perience with an animal may turn and run for his life if a cow looks
over the fence.
I am speaking here of actual fears, not obsessive ones built by Imagination or association.

Many Fears
and few
I speak of height, water, animals. These are only a examples. A train, a fire-engine, an elevator, an escalator, a merry go-round, or a boat can produce agonizing horrar in a small child.
HAIR STYLES.
White Flare Vogue for Coming Season.
(From A Paris Correspondent)
White fares in the hair will be Imuch in vogue during the coming' season, fer, Parisiennes have de- cided that a streak of white or grey in their coiffures given an air of distinction and smartness.
In the past, both men and wo- men who possessed natural flares,. have often been the envy of their friends. Now, however, their privilege in to be usurped by numerous smart women who are having recourse to the art of the coiffeur to give them the cachet and distinction of the flare.
or
Paris has discovered a shampoo that will produce the flare whiten the hair entirely if desired. Many women with unwaved hair which is dark in shade, choose a little wing of solid white to break the hair at the sides.

solt,
Hairdressers advise lightly combed flare mingled with the rest of the hair for a woman who wears her hair in definite
waves.
