There was only one Mamak Hockey match yesterday, between, The University and the 20th Battery and the result of the moeting was rather uninteresting from the standpoint of good hockey. There was an absence of brilliant hockey and the monotony was only rolloved by occasional flashes of good play. Although the Battery pressed they never looked like scoring and in this half their opposing forwards, with a brilliant run, increased the lead of the 'Varsity. For the remainder of the game the Battery concentrated in de. fensive tactics against the re- pented attacks of the 'Varsity and their goal kad many anxious moments.

The Hongkong Hockey Club had an overwhelming victory over the South Wales Borderers in n friendly at King's Park, winning by seven goals to one. At the Interval they led by two goals to nil and in the second half addod another five, the Borderers reply- ing with a single.
