Lam In, charged with breaking into and entering a shop at 11 Lai On Lane, West Point, on the night of July 12, and with shooting at P. C. Harris, who attempted his arrest in the early morning in Des Voeux Road West, was committed for trial by Mr. Wynne-Jones at the Central Magistracy yesterday afternoon at the close of the Police evidence.

I will be recalled that the in- cident which is the subject of the more serious charge, is one which is said to have occurred shortly after 4 a.m.. when the accused while walking in Des Voeux Rond West, was stopped by P. C. Harris who had noticed that the man was wenring several suits of Chinese clothes, one over the other.

There was a struggle, in the course of which both men fell to the ground. It was at this point under- that the Recused, who was

The closeness. of the shots was demon- strated by & bullet hole in the off- cer'a tunic and by hurat powder marks.
