Canton, Jan. 14. An interport tennis tournament is to be held here on January 23rd and 24th between teams re- presenting Canton and Hongkong. The venue will be the Canton Citizens' Athletic Association courts at Central Park, and the tournament will be played under Davis Cup rules, the rup being presented by Mr. Wong Po-keung

A fast and keen game was played off yesterday afternoon between the Incognitos and the Royal Signala on the U.S.R.C. ground and resulted in a vin for the Incognites by four gunla to one.

C. Barros was responsible for two goals; whilst E. V. Reed and RC Reed scored one goal ench.

W. Reed played a briliant game in the defence line. For the losern, Williams was the outstanding player and seared their only goal. He was well marked but mlined a lot of opportunities.

A Chester man, looking through! some old boolos he bought at a local sale about four years ago, found a letter believed to have been written by Lord Nelson.

It was dated Palermo, October 30. 1799, and was addressed to the father of a lad who fell in action.

"Time," the letter stated, "that great remedy for such loss, has, i hope, tranqualized your mind, and the reflection will remain that he died victorious and for his King nd country and in a battle which I trust you felt proud of, not only hy Every Briton, but by every good mn of all nations, as it was for virtue and religion."
