PER CENT.

A three per cent. tax on all bets on authorised totalisators or pari-muturis and a five per cent, tax UN contributions or subscriptions towards authorised cash sweeps, will come into force in the Colony shortly.

The draft Bill, following the lines of the Straits Settlements legislation, is published in to- day's Government Gazette.

The Ordinance is citet as the Betting Buty Ordinance, 1931, and ila mam provisions are as follows:
