LEAGUE TENNIS TO START SOON.
OPENING DATE FIXED FOR JUNE 6.
The first meeting of the newly-con- stituted Council of the Lawn Tennis Association was held last night, when the President (Mr. R. E. Lindsell) was in the chair, and presided over n large attendance of representatives.
The election of the Executive Com- mittee for the current year resulted in the appointment of Messrs. E. C. Fincher, S. A, Rumjahn, 1. M. Hender sun and II. J. Armstrong, in addition to the officers of the association, who are ez officio.
After Kome dincuasion, it was decided that the League reason should officially open on Saturday, June 6, and that the Divisions be constitutes as last year, but that instead of the winners of each match obtaining one point, the club should be awarded two. it was further agreed that any contesti not definitely settled at the 12th game should be considered a draw, and halt a point awarded to each pair. Thus, in the event of two teams concluding match on level terms, they should
