OUR BRITISH CROSSWORDS,

"They're worth a nice big kiss!""

It's a big favour for one child to share those treasured "Ovaltine" Rusks with another. A nice big kisa is a small reward for rusks so delightfully crisp and so deliciously crunchy.

A child's instinct is for foods which require thorough mastication. When only soft foods are given. this instinct is soon lost. The result is seen in Irregular and crowded teeth, ill-developed faws and ugly mouths. "Ovaltine" Rusks should be included in the daily dietary of every child, because they give the exercise to ensure sound healthy teeth, and the proper development of the jaws.

Efficient mastication has also a vital bearing upon health.

It is the addition of “Ovaltine" which gives these ruska their fascinating flavour, renders them ensy of digestion. and gives them a much higher nutritive value than ordinary rusks.

A USEFUL HINT.

How to Clean Gloves.

- White or light-coloured kid gloves may be cleaned at itomo quite easily by means of a little! petrol. Pull the glove on to thei hand, and do up the buttons. Next rub gently with a soft cloth moistened in the petrol, remem-, bering to begin at the wrist and to work down towards the finger, tips. Immediately the cloth

becomes soiled, it must, of course, be changed, otherwise the dirt is" liable to be rubbed into the glove. When quite clean, hang the gloves out of doors until the smell of the petrol is removed. Brown kid gloves, however, are best cleaned with the white of an egg.

Use

only a very small amount and apply it evenly with a small

sponge.

In the case of chamois leather gloves, it is advisable to wash them thoroughly in warm, soapy water. Knead and aqueeze the leather well all over, taking care to avold hard rubbing. Rinse In plenty of clean, warm water, and finally in another supply of soapy water. Then squeeze out as much water as possible, before ha

to dry in a warm place. While the gloves are drying..do not for get to give them a good rubbing at frequent intervals, in order to keep the leather soft and pliable.

New or freshly washed gloves should be pulled on to the hand with the utmost care otherwise they are almost certain to split. Gently work the fingers on and then insert the thumb. In remov ing gloves, poel them off the wrist inside out; with this treatment they will retain their shape and last much longer.

Most Effective.

Useful for an informal din- ner party is the charming lit. tle frock in figured taffetas showing a gold and

orange pattern on a brown ground. The style of the model is de- murely attractive. and the corsage finish of three orange- coloured tafTetas flowers is most effective.

Evening Gowns Emphasise Classic Lines.

The classic line is emphasised in an elegant evening gown of oyster-coloured satin, the skirt of which flarea into four trains" at the hem. On each of these is posed a large flower of the dress material with a diamente studded centre.
