Two Trans-atlantic passenger ships hove into New York harbour at the same hour the other day. Ore, perhaps heralding the future mode in oversoas travel, was the green-painted Dornier-Wal seaplane, pictured in the foreground, which bore Capt. Wolfgang von Gronau and three young student aviators from Germany. The other ship, a veloran of international voyaging, was the liner Majestic, shown in the background as she neared her pier after a trip from Southampton.

Josephine Baker, Ameri- can musical comedy star, is shown as she gave Deauville. a thrill by promenading with her latest pet, a baby leopard.
