Mr. Davar started on the tour alone from Bombay and went through Baluchistan, Persia, Tur key, Bulgaria, Servia, Italy, and Austria before he was joined by his companion at Vienna. After that they toured Czecho-Slovakia, Ger- many, Switzerland, France, Bel- gium, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Lapland, Russia, Istonia, Latvia, Poland, and then came by way of Central Germany to France and sailed from Marseilles to Algiers. Here they covered over 1,000 miles over rocky and moun- tainous country and then in 1926 started their 2,600 mile journey across the Sahara wastes.

The most thrilling, as well as the most hazardous and interesting, part of their tour began when they began to penetrate the Amazon jungles. It was the most difficult part of the journey, said Mr. Davar, and they were completely cut off from civilization for nine months and twenty-six days. Crossing the Sahara, said Mr. Davar, was a picnic compared with this journey. Mr. Davar and Mr. Sztavajanik arrived in Hongkong from Canton after touring Japan and China, They are now on. their way to Australia and then to India. They hope to finish their tour in another aix months. In all the places they have visited they were received well and they have collected the autographs of many great and famous men as well as Kings, Queens, Mayors and other well known men in every walk of life.

The Municipal and Provincial headquarters of the Kuomintang, which the Shansi authorities closed in the spring, have been re- opened by order of the Bureau of Public Safety, under instructions from Chang Hauch-liang; but it is understood that their activities will be strictly supervised and they will not be allowed to display posters likely to cause disturbances. The activities of labour agitators will also be carefully controlled.
