HONGKONG SIDE WINS FRIENDLY MATCH.

Shanghai, Sept. 8. Rafa having fallen, prior to the game, in the Yangtzzepoo, district only, it rather soaked the greens, and Atkinson decided not to play the deciding Interport match, although a strong sun was prevailing and there was à drying wind.

The opinion of the Shanghai side was that the game could have been played after 4 p.m., the ground being in better condition than on Saturday. The oplaion of Hongkong, Luz particularly, was that it would be unwise to play after Saturday's ex- perience.

Hongkong, however, fielding a weak team, beat Shanghai's original team for to-day's Interport match in a friendly gume, by 24 ahots to 18

Hankow Win.

INGREDIENTS-4 eggs, 1 teaspoonful mixed

mustard, teaspoonful white pepper, 1⁄41⁄2 tea-- spoonful cayenne, salt to taste, 4 tablespoon- fuls Nestle's Pure Thick Cream, equal quantity oil and vinegar.

METHOD.-Þöll the eggs hard (15 to 20 minutes), put them into cold water, take off shells, pound yolks in a mortar to a smooth paste. Add other ingredients except vinegar, stir until well mixed, pour in sufficient vinegar to make it consistency of cream, taking care to add but little at a time. The whites of the eggs, cur intò rings, will serve as a garnish.
