Lieutenant-Colonel Robinson was commissioned in the "Steel-backs" in 1907, joined the 1st Battalion at Poona, served subsequently in. Aden and was with the battalion at Devonport when the Great War opened. He went with the 1st Battalion to France in

retreat to the Marne, was wound- August, 1914, was at Mons and the

ad there, received the. Military Cross for conspicuous courage in

action: was adjutant 1915, was second in command of the let Battalion, 1917, and commanded it in the trenches the last year of the war (mentioned in despatches twice, D.S.Q., M.C., 1914 Star with elasp: British War Medal and Vietory Medal)..

· Lieutenant-Colonel Robinson is a good all round sportsman and a keen shot both with rifle and shot- gun.

The fifth manual session of the Cheung Chau Bible Conference is in progress this week at Cheung Chau. The Conference began un Sunday afternoon with a by. Rev. J. C, Mitchell of Takhing. Rev. PEL Anderson of Canton has brought daily expositions covering the first eight chapters of the Book of Acts. Rev. G. II. McNeur of Canton gave a very interesting sketch from the biography of Rov. the first Chinese Leucg Fat, evangelist, 1789-1855, a more exten- sive biography of whom he is pro- paring for publication in and later in English..

ANOTHER VISITATION AT NAPLES.
