In celebration of its tenth an- niversary, the staff and students of the Tutorial Institute held a con- cert at the Hop Yat Hall yesterday evening, when opportunity was also taken by the Principal, Mr. N. H. Fok, B.Sc., to present his annual report.

The concert programme consist- ed of both European and Chinese music, those taking part including a number of students of tho In- stitute. A feature was a one-nct Chinese play by Miss Pak Chu-lan, which evoked loud applause.

A prominent official of the Chi- nese General Chamber of Com merce, whose opinion was sought by a representative of the Press yesterday, said that he could not see to what extent the Hong- kong Government would benefit by an increase in taxation at this juncture of unprecedented trade depression.
