MEMBER OF FRENCH DEFENCE FORCE WINS.
Shanghai, Apr. 21.
The 17 mile Marathon race for which there were 22 entries, was won by M. 15 Verdun, of the French Defence Force, in a sensational finish, with Remedios, second, Hunt third, and Chen fourth. The contest between the winner and Remedios was a very close one, the latter being only 3 seconds behind. The time taken in covering the course was 1 hour, 19 minutes, and seconds.
