permit of a definite result, and at the close the players were sharing four sets.

Ng Sze-kwong obviously recog 608nised that he had no light task to dispose of the C.R.C. champion, and it was by sheer brilliant tennis that he carried off the first two sets. He brought into play all his knowledge of court-craft, following up his deep drives by cleverly placed drop shots, which left Ho fairly helpless.

The fourth set saw the former champion in his most dangerous defensive mood. He allowed Hu to make the pace, and then time and time again defeated him with Marazion had the better of the splendid, recovery shots.
