CHINESE STABBEO WHEN OFFERING RESISTANCE.

An armed robbery perpetrated by seven men

occurred at thei Dairy Farm in, Pokfulum, yester-{ day afternoon, and resulted in jewellery and money to the value of $789 being stolen, a Chinese foreman being wounded.

According to the Police account of the outrage, the foreman, named Cheuk Kiu. 60 years of age, was at home with two sons! and his wife in No. 21 cowshed) at the Dairy Farm, when the premises were broken into by seven robbers armed with daggers.

The man cried out for assist- anec, and the robbers made an attempt to strangle him, also stabbing him in the leg and cut- ting his bands. The victims were bound, and gagged with small wine cups, members of the gang making a thorough search of the premises..

The robbers made off with the booty shortly before two o'clock, in an unknown direction. An ninrm was

mediately after the desperadoes" departure. Up to a late hour yes- serday no arrest had been effected.
