Aircraft Carrier Changes. Orders have been issued that on commissioning for sen trials January 7 11.M.S. Glorious, Captain D. F. Moir, D.8.0., became dependent command. The Glorious is the last of the large cruisers built during the War which have been con- verted into aircraft carriers, the others being the Courageque and Furious. The Glorious will be made up to full complement on February 24, and will join the Mediterranean Fleet about the end of June, She replaces the Courageous, which is to return to England for service with the Atlantic Fleet in place of the Argus. CHINESE NEW YEAR.

CELEBRATIONS AT CHINESE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

The customary celebration of the Chinese New Year among. Chinese merchants and bankera took the form of a tea-party held yesterday afternoon at the Chinese General Chamber of Com- merce, occasion being taken by members to exchange greetings. Both the entranco and hall were beautifully decorated with bunt- ing and flowers, while the hall' was filled to capacity with mem- bers and their friends.

In a short speech, Mr. Li Yick- mui, Chairman of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, wished those present prosperity and happiness in the coming Spring. Subsequently light refreshments were nerved..
