LOCAL HINDOO ASSOCIA- TION'S ENJOYABLE FUNCTION
A tea party was given in honour of Mr. Lalchand Wattanmal at the Peninsula Hotel roof garden on Monday undor the auspices of the Hindoe Association, when Mr. R. Soonderam, the president, took the chair. A large number of guesta attended, and were received by Mr. V. Shewaram and Mr. T. A. Mahtani. The chairman in wel coming the guests of honour said the Association had given the party as a token of ita gratitude to Mr. Lalchand for his valuable help and assistance rendered to the Association and its members Mr. Lalchand had been successful in raising a large sum of money from neighbouring ports and places for the Cametery Fund of
the
Association, and had been the means of promoting friendship and co-operation between the As sociation and its members and similar organizations in other places. They wished him luck and success in his enterprisea and hoped to be able to welcome him back in a short time.
Mr. G. P. Daswani, in the vernacular, spoke very highly of Mr. Lalchand Wattanmal,
