BENEDICT'S CALL ON GIRL

IRATE "FATHER STABS HIM WITH OPIUM PICK.

EARLY MORN INCIDENT

Interference in his domestic affairs by a married man was ab jected to by the father of a young girl, with the result that the intru- der, who paid a secret visit to the residence of the girl at 2 o'clock this morning, was set upon by the Indignat father. The unwanted visitor received a superficial in- cised wound on his shoulder alleged to have been inflicted with an opium pick.

According to Inspector Marks, who prosecuted the assailant be- fore Mr. T. S: Whyte Smith at the Kowloon Magistracy this mornings the complainant was at fault in the first place for calling at the girl's house against the father's wishes at 2 o'clock in the morning

It was further evealed that the complainant was a married man and was followed to the defen- dant's house by his wife..

His Worship remarked to the complainant that he seemed to be a bad man, the complainant reply- ing that the girl's mother was with them all the time.

His Worship pointed out to the defendant that he should not have stabbed the complainant, and bound both parties over in sums of $50 to be of good behaviour for

six months.
